Mildred was a very special person to all who love Children of Promise. In 2003, Mildred began making salvation bracelets for Paul and Brenda to use to explain God’s gift of salvation to the sponsored children around the world. Those in the Children of Promise ministry, who travel to visit the children, have had the privilege of seeing the faces of the children….and adults….light up when they realize that a place in Heaven awaits them if they accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
Mildred made over 100,000 bracelets in the last 11+ years. 100,000! Mildred’s bracelets have adorned the children as well as their mothers, fathers, grandmothers, grandfathers, sisters, brothers, and pastors. Mildred’s bracelet ministry has touched thousands of lives. Well done, Mildred.
The funeral service to celebrate her life and ministry will take place on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015 at Rainier Community Church of God, Rainier, OR. The family has requested that any memorial contributions be sent to Children of Promise for its “Making It All Happen” fund, PO Box 2316, Anderson IN 46018. Please join us in lifting the Maxfields and extended family to the Lord during this bitter-sweet time of farewell and celebration. And, Mildred, thank you for sharing the Gospel message of salvation in Christ with so many. What a lasting legacy you have given Children of Promise.
